Pseudacraea lucretia
protracta male?
Ventral surface
Dorsal surface
Photographed in the rainforest of Kibale National park, Uganda, June ´98. This medium-sized butterfly was seen in fairly large numbers there .
Did you identify the species?
So far three people have identified it as Pseudacraea lucretia. Frank Cuypers of Kinshasa narrowed it down to P.l.protracta, male (Butler 1874) Cf. "Papillons du Zaïre" (Berger).
If you disagree with the identification, just click on the e-mail button and tell me. Much obliged.
