The butterfly is a rather large species, as this picture illustrates.
Here the coloration, especially in the hindwings, is more natural, as the picture is not as strongly contre-jour as the one above.
It's all in the light.Did you identify the species? Is it a true heliconius, a danaine, or a mimic?
One reply stated that it was a Danaine: Lycorea cleobaea s. sp, a primitive Danaina (a familly close to Ithomiine).
