These two civets visited our tented camp in Langoué Bai on two nights. Some food crumbs on the ground had drawn them out of the jungle. They were constantly on the lookout for danger and would dash into the jungle at the slightest disturbance, only to reappear shortly after things had quieted down.
They were apparently a courting couple as they are normally strictly solitary and very intolerant of the company of others. They would, however, frequently engage in fierce-looking fights with each other, and at night they would sometimes wake us up to their very loud and deep coughs and growls.
